The Daily Paragraph

I often wonder what it would be like to go back in time. If they ever discover a way, it will be the greatest invention ever, the greatest find ever. Perhaps there is a way to go back in time, or to simply time travel. It's possible, that there is a way. But, would you trust our government or any government of that matter to use it the right way? I know for sure, or I believe I know for sure that any government would use it for evil, as a secret weapon to control the world. I have no plans of greed or evil with my purpose, I just want to see, one last time, things for how they once were. I'd love to go back to moments in my life and experience them as an observer. I would love to go back to the summer of 1984 and observe myself as I worked at the Water Slide at Salisbury Beach. More so, I'd love to walk around and take in the atmosphere, see all the rides in their splendor. I'd love to see people I know young again. I don't want to change my past, I just want to experience it as it was one more time. There were two amusement parks going at the same time in the 80's, Shaheen's and Pirates Fun Park. Why they named it Pirates Fun Park, one will never know. Pirates weren't fun. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful time in my home town.

I pine for the days the wind would blow my way, taking with it the smells of the pizza stands and fried dough joints that were clustered in and around the two amusement parks. The “Center”, as we called it was the epicenter of activity down at the beach. That's were the amusement parks were, the arcades, the pizza and fried dough stands. There were clubs and bars, all of them honky tonk but no two were alike. I'd love to smell the scent of the center once again.

Maybe, that's heaven. When I go, it will be a perpetual summer of '84. That would be heaven.
