The Great Florida Trip of 2012
I'm hoping this trip goes down as the greatest trip thus far in the history of my life. I hope one day I'll be able look back at this journey and say it was the one that started me on the road to my amazing success. How ironic it will be that I had to go to Florida to jump start my career, to reinvent and resurrect a comedy life that has been a constant struggle from the get go.
It all began for me in May of 1991. Almost 22 years later I'm still wondering when it will begin. Putting any expectations on this trip would be foolhardy and just plain stupid. But, I think and I dream. I've traveled all day, perhaps I'm overtired. I don't know any other excuse for my optimism. Maybe a good night's sleep will put me in a more realistic mood in the morning. I doubt it. I'm going to remain optimistic regardless of the final outcome of this adventure.
Things are looking up, I picked a brand new Motel 6 to stay at, and with free internet. The room is very modern looking with hardwood floors that look like bamboo. Pretty sweet if you ask me. And the towel fixture in the bathroom looks like a prop from 2001 A Space Odyssey. Wonderful. The motel is located in Martinsburg, West Virgina of all places, although I don't think this was the place John Denver was thinking about when he sang, "Country Roads".
And, I don't know what it is, but my hair looks great. Yeah, I'm ready for this trip and all the good things in store.
